"Often, she would even put between her teeth the stem of a big pipe that lay among the lemons and lumps of sugar, beside the water jug, on the night table."
I pulled off the big road on my way home to take this photo a few weeks ago. It was the end of a long week and for some reason the sunset felt like my own personal "welcome home!" Happy weekend to all.
This is part of last year's harvest from our cherry tree. I love this picture for several reasons - it reminds me of summer, I'm in lurve with all things cherry and cherry related and for some reason, seeing these little berries reminds me to lighten up and not take everything so seriously:) Hope you enjoy this last peek of summer!
It's our second winter storm in as many weeks. The roads are closed so no work today! My plan is to catch up on housework, do some reading, annoy my sleeping sugar bee (the cat!) and avoid getting sucked into Dick van Dyke reruns at all costs!
Don't be fooled by the string. You're looking directly into the eyes of an eight pound creature who has convinced two adults to pet, feed and pamper him using the power of his eyes alone! Seriously though, George is the cat who runs our house - he's what my doctor calls a governor cat and I love him to bits. We rescued him from a breeder about five years ago and have slowly come to realize why he was fired from his last job:-) Trust me...don't ask!
